Object and filling level detection in the pharmaceutical industry
Filling volumes and secure capping of pharmaceutical containers should be reliably detected and checked at high process speeds and with a close sensor arrangement. The safe placement of caps must also be detected regardless of shape and color. A universally applicable sensor that reliably monitors the fill level and cap of pharmaceutical packaging in the pharmaceutical industry with different consistencies and packaging shapes was required.
Solution
The P43 series ultrasonic sensor from PiL Sensoren GmbH with a stainless steel design and tight sound beam was selected for fill level measurement and cap monitoring. The ultrasonic sensor, which is especially suitable for the pharmaceutical industry, is resistant to bacteria and pathogens thanks to its stainless steel housing and can detect various substances without contact and in restricted installation conditions. The interference echo suppression also prevents sensors from interfering with each other when installed close together.
